Step 4

Now I want to crop the photo, so that it will fit the frame. I first adjust the size of the photo a little by clicking Edit > Free Transform. I the click on the Rectangular Marquee Tool, which can be found top left in the toolbar. I click and drag over the picture, so that a rectangle is formed over the picture. Now, remember, the area that has been selected is not the area I want to remove, so I click on Select > Inverse and the I hit backspace. Too easy! Now it is time to add some text.

Step 5

I write Winter Walk and 2007 in two different layers, using the font tool (which looks like a T in the toolbar menu).
I have picked the font Curlz TM, since I really like that font and it has a childish curly look
to it that will match the layout. To move the photo and the frame (so that the text can fit),
I used the Move Tool, which is located top right in the toolbar menu. I chose the colour white for the text,
but I need to do something to make it stand out from the pale blue background. Luckily I have a neat trick to do that…

Step 6

Aha, I know what to do!
I will add a stroke outline in dark blue and a shadow to give the text a three dimensional look.
By double clicking on the layer where I have written Winter Walk, the special effect pops up in a new window.
I there choose Stroke and Drop Shadow and I played around with the different optional.
I also remembered to SAVE my document, which you always should do regular…
